How to Make Your Own DIY Lemon Soap Bars
There are thousands of sites online with various soap recipes. Most of them contain harsh chemicals, which can make irritate your skin – especially if you suffer from eczema or ichthyosis. That’s why we’ve created a DIY soap that is highly moisturizing, has a lovely lemon fragrance and could easily become your favorite homemade soap. All you need is a few natural ingredients and a little bit of careful measuring. We love this DIY Lemon Soap as it smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling rejuvenated.
When I tried this soap, I particularly loved the smell. Lemon is probably one of the most universal smells associated with cleanliness and lemon is used in nearly all cleaning products. I think I am in love with lemon right now – I’ll probably use it in my next soapmaking recipe. This soap also lathers really well and left my skin feeling really smooth (which is VERY important since I suffer from eczema.) I also loved the fact that it lasts really long – my kids love this homemade soap too. They even cut one in half and used it as spongebob for their bathtime adventures!

We used a Goat’s milk soap base for this homemade soap as it contains protein and triglyceride, which turns your soap into an excellent natural moisturizer. The use of Lemon gives us a natural yellow color and a fresh lemon scent. Goat’s milk also contains vitamin A, B6, B12 and E as well as beta-casein – these all help to hydrate dry skin. It is also very easy to mould making this recipe great for beginners.
Lemons do wonders for your skin too. Incorporating Lemon into this DIY soap recipe will help to lighten your skin and prevent skin marks.
You can purchase the soap base very easily online – eBay is a favorite when buying products online. Lemon essential oil and Lemon zest can be purchased at your local supermarket which is convenient for people who want to create this soap multiple times.
These soaps can also make great gifts. If you head over to your local dollar tree and find some nice glass jars to store them in they’d make a great birthday, christmas or Mother’s Day gift. I know I’d be happy if I received one of these delicious smelling soaps and the fact that it was homemade would make it extra special.
